Ambient Lounge – Best Australian Chill-out Bean Bag Destinations – Broome (Western Australia)

What’s your idea of an ideal Australian holiday? Do you want to ride a camel down a long stretch of beach? Or perhaps you prefer to watch the sunset while on camp? Sit on gorgeous ambient lounge bean bags around a 5-star pool overlooking the ocean? How about watching some of the most beautiful exotic birds in the world on the shore? You get all these experiences and much more when you visit Broome, W.A.... For many, still a mysterious hidden away gem in a remote part of Australia.

Located in relative isolation in Kimberley, Western Australia, the town of Boome is a very popular getaway. Some of the most beautiful pearls are still sold in the area, especially if you head to Chinatown (yes, there is a Chinatown in Broome!). What’s more, if you know how to haggle, you can get a pearl jewelry for a price that fits your budget.

Broome, most of all, is famous for it's breathtaking sunsets. It has a population of only around 14,500, though it can grow to as high as 45,000 particularly during peak season. Most of the tourists come in through its international airport as driving there is nothing short of hardcore.

Go to Cable Beach for chill time.

It’s hard to separate Broome with Cable Beach as the latter has already become synonymous with the former—or vice versa. Cable Beach derived its name from how communications were delivered along the long stretch of nothing but fine white sand; it’s a magnificent stretch of coastline more than 20 kilometers long.

It’s also near a pearling community, and you’re always welcome to drop by and learn more about their culture and industry. One of the most popular activities along the beach is a camel ride down the shores especially during sunset... Or you can just drag an Elements Ambient Lounge bean bag, a music box and a six-pack Esky and watch the day go by right in front of you. Blissful.

Campers can check out Ellenbrae Station

Around Kimberley and within Broome are many campsites and stations that offer you an accommodation and a much closer look and union with nature. Our recommendation, though, goes to Ellenbrae Station, which spans more than 900,000 acres.

Guests can roam around following the walking trails, meditate or sip a nice cup of tea in the gardens complemented by scones, or swim and fish in the nearby beach. For sure, though, you’ll just love to gather around bonfires at night with your bean bag and dining on hot BBQ grills of Aussie beef patties and outback steak....yumm.. You can also elevate your menu and settle for grilled shrimps paired with a sweet corn cob and a delicate fruit punch.

Roebuck Bay when nature calls.

Do you love birds? And even if you don’t, you will surely appreciate your time in Roebuck Bay, which became even more famous since the millions of migratory birds drop by the area before they move on to their ultimate destination. You’ll be amazed on the various kinds of waders you’ll see in the mudflats. The bay is also well-known for its red sand, a massive colony of flying fox bats. By October, and if you’re lucky, wait for the full moon, while on your bean bag, to cast its light onto the mudflats in extremely low tide and watch some magic happens: a “staircase” appears.

And...for those that appreciate the 'bikini' style birds...just head back to the beach ;)
